# Franeker

> Franeker is one of the eleven historic cities of Friesland, known for its rich academic past as the location of the Netherlands' second Protestant university. 

Its main attraction is the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Eise Eisinga Planetarium, the world's oldest working orrery, which was built inside a wool carder's living room in the 18th century.
