Steenwijk

Steenwijk is a historic city in the Netherlands’ province of Overijssel, known for its well-preserved fortifications and historic center that reflect its strategic role as a fortified city and trade hub.

Today, it serves as the largest town in the municipality of Steenwijkerland and is an excellent base for visiting the nearby Weerribben-Wieden National Park and the famous village of Giethoorn.
